Exchange format

Each exchange is 2 hours long and below is the sample agenda.

1. Introduce yourself, Get to know, Pair up (15 min)

Once you arrive, you’ll be greeted by a TEK host and offered to have a seat. During the first 10 minutes, say hi to other TEKers and get to know them. If we’re meeting at a cafe, please order during this time. And 5 minutes before the start of the exchange, the host will say a few welcoming words and briefly explain what’ll happen during the exchange.

2. Korean session: Learn & practice Korean (45 min)

English speakers lead the conversation. It is their chance to ask any questions or get feedback while having casual conversations. They can also use TEK provided games, lessons or other learning contents.

Typically, one-on-one practice occurs. However, you may find yourself pairing up with 2 other TEKers to do a group exchange for more dynamic conversations.

4. Group session: Share key takeaways and ask remaining questions (15 min)

You’ll be in a group of 4-6 to share and celebrate learning wins.

TEKers love this time because they get the benefit of learning from others. Feel free to ask for clarification or help someone understand something better.

After the exchange, sometimes TEKers like to stay behind and chit-chat more or go out to eat. But everything that happens after the 2-hour exchange is optional.
